[WebMemo] => Luke is a 1.5-year-old male dog in need of a rescue, foster, or adopter who can provide the specialized care and support he needs. He has a congenital eyelid abnormality in which his eyelid is smaller than normal, resulting in entropion. This condition causes the eyelid to roll inward and may require surgical correction to prevent ongoing irritation and discomfort to the eye.

At this time, Luke has been difficult to safely handle for treatment due to his behavior, making continued veterinary care challenging in his current environment. He would benefit from an experienced rescue, foster, or adopter who can provide a calm, structured setting and work with a veterinarian to determine the safest and most appropriate treatment plan.

Please share Luke’s information to help us find a rescue, foster, or adopter who can provide the specialized care and support he needs.

If you are interested in helping Luke, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov with your contact information so we can call you back. For a cat who is already fighting a serious respiratory illness, not eating can quickly become dangerous. Mama needs continued veterinary care, supportive treatment, and someone willing to fight alongside her while she works to get better.

It is heartbreaking to see this sweet girl so sick. She didn't ask for any of this, and right now she needs people to speak up for her and help give her a chance.

Bear isn’t refusing care because he doesn’t need it—he simply becomes extremely stressed and difficult to safely handle when medication is attempted. This makes treating his eye a real challenge, and we are worried about leaving his condition untreated for too long.

Cherry eye can cause irritation, discomfort, redness, and other complications if it isn't properly managed. Bear deserves to be comfortable and to have the chance to get the veterinary care he needs without fear or stress.
We are desperately hoping someone can help us find a solution for this boy. Whether that means a veterinarian experienced with difficult-to-handle dogs, someone knowledgeable about safely administering medication, a rescue or foster who has experience with behavioral challenges, or simply someone who can point us in the right direction—we need help.

Bear needs someone willing to look beyond his behavior and see the scared, uncomfortable dog underneath it.

From our volunteer observations, Jett seems to be laid back and social with other dogs, and he enjoys light play in playgroup. This young guy may need some work on his puppy manners and leash skills, but he's affectionate and responsive when given guidance. Come meet Jett today!

This sweet boy is facing a painful condition called cherry eye, and unfortunately, getting him the medication he needs has become incredibly difficult because of his behavior.
