[WebMemo] => Sandy is a sweet girl who is still learning to feel comfortable in her surroundings. She can be nervous in her kennel and may take some time to warm up to new people. In playgroup, Sandy preferred to keep to herself and communicated when she needed space. With patience, understanding, and a little time, Sandy is hoping to find someone who will give her the opportunity to come out of her shell and show her personality.
Sandy is currently at risk for euthanasia due to DAS being overcapacity in our dog population. Sandy is beginning to show signs of kennel stress. We feel they would benefit from being placed into a home environment with an adopter, foster, or rescue partner. Please email dasadopt@dallas.gov if interested fostering or adopting. Please provide your full name and phone number.

[WebMemo] => Meet Nugget — a sweet soul who desperately needs someone to see past his medical challenges and give him a chance.
Nugget is dealing with ongoing dental disease, persistent soft tissue swelling, and continued right front (RF) lameness. He needs continued veterinary care and someone willing to advocate for him while his medical needs are addressed.
This poor baby has been dealing with discomfort for far too long. He deserves more than simply getting by — he deserves proper medical care, a safe place to recover, and a loving home where he can finally feel secure.
This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to medical concerns beyond our scope of care. If you are interested in adopting, fostering or rescuing this dog, email dasadopt@dallas.gov. When emailing, please leave a callback number.

[WebMemo] => Hunter is a senior gentleman with a calm, gentle personality and a soft spot for belly rubs. He walks nicely on leash, knows how to sit, and takes treats gently. During his time with volunteers, Hunter has enjoyed sniffing around the play yard, doing silly little zoomies, and sitting close for pets. He often rolls onto his back to ask for belly rubs and has a sweet, wiggly demeanor once he warms up. Hunter can be a little shy about touch at first and may prefer to take things at his own pace, but he has shown a friendly and affectionate side with the people he trusts. He has also spent time around other dogs and may be vocal or offer corrections during greetings, so thoughtful introductions are important. If you’re looking for a sweet senior companion with plenty of personality, come meet Hunter!

[WebMemo] => Rosie is a female dog who presented with a collapsed IV disc space, a condition that can cause significant pain and discomfort and requires ongoing medical management. She will require prolonged anti-inflammatory and pain medication to help control her discomfort and support her recovery. This level of continued medical care and medication management exceeds what we are able to consistently provide at DAS.
Despite her condition, Rosie remains resilient and is doing her best while receiving supportive care. Rosie needs a safe, compassionate placement where she can receive continued veterinary oversight, prolonged anti-inflammatory and pain medication, and appropriate rest and recovery care to keep her comfortable and improve her quality of life.
This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to the level of medical care required, which exceeds what we can provide in the shelter. If you are interested in helping, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov with your contact information so we can call you back.

[WebMemo] => Oreo is a male dog who is currently lame on his left hind limb (LH) due to an old injury consistent with an avulsion fracture. His ongoing lameness indicates that he will require further veterinary evaluation and continued orthopedic care to determine the best course of treatment and help improve his comfort and mobility. The specialized diagnostic, orthopedic, and rehabilitation care he may require exceeds what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment.
Despite his condition, Oreo remains resilient and is doing his best while receiving supportive care. Oreo needs a safe, compassionate placement where he can receive prompt veterinary and orthopedic evaluation, appropriate treatment, and ongoing care for his old injury. With proper medical attention and rehabilitation, he may have an opportunity to improve his comfort, mobility, and overall quality of life.
This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to the level of medical care required, which exceeds what we can provide in the shelter. If you are interested in helping Oreo, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov with your contact information so we can call you back.

[WebMemo] => Luke is a 1.5-year-old male dog in need of a rescue, foster, or adopter who can provide the specialized care and support he needs. He has a congenital eyelid abnormality in which his eyelid is smaller than normal, resulting in entropion. This condition causes the eyelid to roll inward and may require surgical correction to prevent ongoing irritation and discomfort to the eye.
At this time, Luke has been difficult to safely handle for treatment due to his behavior, making continued veterinary care challenging in his current environment. He would benefit from an experienced rescue, foster, or adopter who can provide a calm, structured setting and work with a veterinarian to determine the safest and most appropriate treatment plan.
Please share Luke’s information to help us find a rescue, foster, or adopter who can provide the specialized care and support he needs.
