Friends of DAS
Friends of Dallas Animal Services, an initiative of Operation Kindness, is the official non-profit fundraising partner for DAS.
Friends of DAS was founded in 2019 by a small group of shelter volunteers united by a love of animals and appreciation of the unique challenges faced by municipal shelters. In 2025, Friends of DAS merged with Operation Kindness, DAS’ primary rescue partner, to provide even more support to DAS.
Each year, Friends of DAS works closely with DAS leadership to identify a budget, which includes support for enrichment, the foster program, veterinary services, and general shelter needs. In FY25, Friends of DAS provided more than $750,000 in financial support to the shelter.
