Spaying or neutering your pet is essential to preventing unwanted litters and protecting your pet from serious reproductive health issues. It is also required by Chapter 7 of the City of Dallas code.
If your pet is intact, you may be in violation of city code and subject to citation and fines. We have several partners across the community that offer low-cost and free options for spay/neuter.

Dehart Veterinary Services provides a low-cost spay/neuter clinic at Dallas Animal Services on the third Friday of every month. Appointment required. City of Dallas residents only.
Cost: Cats – $25**, Dogs – $35 ($10 appointment deposit required)
**Cats will only be schedule if they are in the same household as a dog**
Includes: spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, DHPP/FVRCP combo vaccine, and microchip

All pit bull dogs owned by City of Dallas residents will receive a free surgery regardless of zip code.

Courts are now accepting online and in-person compliance dismissal request for our “Fix It Tickets.”
This includes Criminal and Civil Citations for the following offenses:
A compliance dismissal allows the animal owner to submit the proof of compliance within 20 days of the citation being issued directly to the court and bypass going in front of the judge. The owner can visit the municipal court in person to submit their compliance documents, or they can go to their homepage at http://courts.dallascityhall.com (and then click “Resolve Your Ticket” on the left-hand side of the screen).
